This week marked the character of Cassie Nova departing the series as she headed to New York City for some time. While she has been a favorite of mine to write for, it was time to give the character a break of sorts. Let me explain. When I brought the character back in 2017, it was a great twist. If you recall, Shane had just gone through a statutory rape trial with Paige; all of the charges were dropped when Paige confessed on the witness stand that she and Shane actually never had sex. However, she, Dawn and Shane were all sentenced to do some court-ordered therapy. The twist was the therapist was actually Cassie, which was great considering Cassie's history with Shane and Natasha, whom were still married at the time. The rest of this run for the character, however, really fell flat in my opinion. I had this epic idea of how to reintroduce her by being the therapist but the rest of the storyline really wasn't there. This is a character that is driven and determined to get what she wants and will do whatever it is required to reach those goals. However, the worst thing she did in this year and a half was use a relationship with Shane to get back at Natasha. Not exactly the type of schemes we are used to seeing from Cassie. After Shane's birthday party, I did know that I wanted Cassie and Robbie to have an affair. But while I was planning the year, I realized that I needed to shelf the character for some time as a type of reset, if you will. I thought that I really wasn't doing the character any justice in this go-around and instead of keeping her as the status quo, I thought I would send her off so when she does come back, it can be with a bang. The highlight of this time with Cassie would be her relationship with Max and seeing how much of Max is actually a mini-version of Cassie. This relationship will pick up again when Cassie returns to the series, which she will one day. She is too key in the series to not be featured, it just has to be done the right away. What do you think of Cassie's departure? Will you miss her? Sound off below …

In other news, I did tweet out that I finally had a good idea for the second season of Pender Island (!) … with work being crazy busy right now (I am mentoring some new hires), I haven't had much time other than to get the initial idea down on paper … I'm hoping something more will come from this idea because it is a good idea (and super twisted) … stay tuned! And, with the Chasing Diamonds mini-series having just wrapped, I already do have more great ideas for the next arch … it's just a matter of also finding the time to flesh out all the idea and writing … many things in the works!

Barbara, you crazy bitch! I had a feeling Dawn was gonna get caught in the crossfire. Barbara needs to go to jail for a long time after this -- she's completely unhinged and a danger to literally everyone around her, and she's shown no remorse or common sense. I get that she has PTSD about shooting Jonah, but the way she brought that gun and then refused to listen to anything resembling logic was pathological. However, I can think of a lot of different scenarios for how this will spin out, so it's certainly a big, splashy cliffhanger to end the week on! Yes, Barbara does have to pay for what she's done. Within 6 months she has shot three people! But every soap needs a good crazy lol. I really like the next longer term phase of this story but short term we will see hospital drama and Barbara with the police. I love that this Daisy/Tyler thing is getting out now. And the people who know thus far have very specific angles to play. I was wondering who Daisy's mayoral opponent would turn out to be, and as random as it is for Robbie, at least having worked in law enforcement wires him into the local government. Should be interesting to see how things go with him and Brooke working together! Robbie is random but like I told Bre, I thought the character of Robbie was at a passing of sorts having lost Leah and Victoria, so this is a great new direction for him. And, with Brooke having cheated on Greg before, this is a interesting pairing since Robbie does have an attraction to Brooke. Leah is the absolute worst. She sucks! I wish she'd taken a walk out to that guesthouse so Babs could've popped a cap in her, too. She's being such a selfish bitch. Meggan wasn't Jeff's "mistress" -- she was the woman he fell in love with and married when Leah was presumed dead, and he turned to her after months and months of Leah stringing him AND Robbie along before making her grand proclamation. Sorry the whole world doesn't revolve around you! I'm glad Jeff semi-called her out on that, but I wish he'd done it more. I hope he divorces her ass and doesn't look back. Looking forward to seeing how all the drama shakes out come Sunday! HA! Poor Leah ... she is sort of wrapped up in her own head right now. Will she divorce Jeff for his affair? Jeff in a lot of ways can't be blamed for what happened as he did fall for Meggan while Leah was dead. The baby adds another wrinkle of complication in the storyline. Thanks for reading this week! A good finish for this week's dallies. Damn!!! Barbara shot not only Natasha, but her granddaughter too. It seems she had a mental breakdown and it might cost the lives of Natasha and Dawn in the process. Babs shot three people in a year ... It's obvious she needs counseling to deal with her problems. Yes, Barbara has had a mental break ... I know it's hard to feel bad for her but she's experienced trauma with feeling guilt of Dawn's rape and then Jonah ... and now this. Her recovery will be interesting as well ... but she has shot 3 people in about 6 months so she has to deal with that first. Of all the career paths I expected Robbie taking, running for Mayor of Twin Peaks weren't on the list, however I get where this story can go with him & Daisy going against each other. He seems to be attracted to Brooke, which probably will only complicate matters ahead. Robbie's path is unexpected but I did want there to be a race for mayor with two main characters and I thought Robbie, who was at a crossroads of sorts was a good idea. You're right, there does seem to be an attraction between him and Brooke but that will be another effect of the story. I figured that Lukas would be one of the first people to find out that Daisy is having affair with Tyler. By the time Poor Vinny finds out half of Twins Peaks is going to know the truth. I love that Lukas, who is working with Daisy & Vinny, now knows the truth. It will add another element of complication to the story. Lukas doesn't like Daisy, so will he spill the beans? Bob & Kim seem to be the ones at the wedding without any drama or trouble happening between them which usually it is the opposite. It seems they're a team who are better together than they're apart ... for now at least. I understand where Leah is coming from, however, I did like Jeff pointing out how Leah's indecisiveness also played part of their fractured relationship. I'm wondering how will this storyline moving ahead. It seems Meggan might be moving on pregnant with Jeff's child. Good Episode! Bre Yes - for now, Bob & Kim are in a good place right now and they are working together as a team. Of course, they also have the fire over their heads, so you wonder how long the bliss will last. On the flip side, we have Leah and Jeff who are at odds now. Will Leah forgive Jeff for his affair? Time will tell. Thanks for reading all the dailies - I know it's a lot of material! Dallas

Been reading along all week when I can, and I'm finally caught up! You know I always enjoy having dailies to spend some time with. I like that you have centered the week on Bob and Kim's wedding. There's a bunch of other stuff going on, but we get the fun of a centralized event and meeting place. I kind of thought Natasha and/or Robbie would try to stop the wedding, so it's been a pleasant surprise that they held it together and were supportive. Bob and Kim really are matched in their own, screwed-up way. I've also really, really enjoyed the Kim/Tyler moments. They've come a long way, and those softer moments paint Tyler in a much more likable light. Thanks for taking the time to get caught up, Michael. I know the dailies give a lot of content in a short amount of time. For the most part, I do like having the dailies featured around a certain event or arch or story just to help bridge it all together. I find the flow a little easier as well, from writing and from reading. I agree with you, Bob and Kim are a good match, at least in their heads 😉 After everything they've been through, I did want the wedding to go off without a hitch. Same with the scenes between Kim and Tyler; after all they went through it's nice that they can come together and be civil for Blake's sake … you just wonder how long it will last with what Kim has done to Felicia. The other fun thing has been Max finally cracking! He's dumb to assume Brad would keep his secret, especially when he was going to get away with it, but he's been so on-edge and guilt-ridden that I'm not surprised he broke. Brad is a better P.I. than Meggan, and he's only had one case (whereas she's had one case for like two years and has accomplished nothing, LOL). I like seeing Robin with some fire like this. I almost expected Max to skip town with Cassie in order to avoid getting in trouble. Speaking of Cassie, I was surprised by her pronouncement that she's leaving town. Curious to know if this was always planned or if it's an adjustment made to the story. It felt like the line of her pairing with Robbie sailed by very quickly and without a lot of action. Definitely shows some growth for Cassie that she didn't want to continue it just to screw with Natasha, though. It was definitely time for Max to confess and let this secret move into the next phase of the story. The only thing from having a full blown Helen/Adam/Robin triangle was this secret. I, too, really like the fire this has put in Robin. It's not often we see that side of her but it is a good reminder that Dominick and Melissa are parents. And yes, Cassie skipping town for now. Like I told Bre earlier in the week, there will be a blog coming out which will explain more about this decision. The character is so key to the cast that she will be back. There have been some confusing moments, I'll admit. Craig is overdue for a rebound and a new direction, but I have a bad feeling about what he's in for. Also, he's a doctor -- why is he so concerned about condoms? I'd have thought he'd be on PrEP by now. The other leap that felt odd to me was Tyler suddenly thinking about "the device" and then taking off to search. It just seemed like he had so little to go on and no real reason to think this "device" is of any interest to him. It was very Kim to snap a picture (did she have her phone in her wedding dress?!) in case she needs blackmail material, though! HA! To be honest, the PreP thing never even came into my mind. I've been with Colton for 13 (omg I'm old) years so Prep was never a thing when I was single. I've been condom free for so long that I've never had to worry about … I agree a total cultural misstep on my part as the writer. I hope you like the rest of the story moving forward! And yes, Kim! While being nice to Tyler, she is still looking out for numero uno. Barbara is completely off her rocker! I'm not sure the whole Natasha angle is working for me, because Dawn keeps being like, "Everything is fine" and then Barbara has a horrific flashback to killing Jonah, which you'd think would make her NOT want to inflict harm on anyone, and she's suddenly fixated on her gun. I mean, it's funny seeing this old bag all homicidal, but I don't really understand her motivations. She's just causing a pregnant Dawn more stress and trauma! Very excited to see what tomorrow's cliffhanger is! Barbara is off her rocker, which is exactly why she is basically seeing Jonah's dead body one moment and pulling a gun on her granddaughter the next. It's almost like a PTSD that she's suffering from where everything is blurry and confusing for her. I hope you enjoy tomorrow's read! Thanks for your feedback! Brad & Meggan do have chemistry! Like Michael said above, Brad has quickly solved a case before Meggan!!! I can't wait for their dinner with his family. I'm sure they won't stop until they know everything about the mother of their unborn grandchild. I feel bad that this family dinner hasn't happened yet … one of those things where more pressing stories seemingly took priority. It should be soon! (I'm so far ahead I actually can't remember lol) I too am wondering where is this storyline with Craig is going myself? I have some thoughts, but I'm wondering in which direction is he heading into? I thought that Nicholas was going to be the one he hooked up with before he was revealed to be in Twin Peaks. That would have been an epic twist Nicholas and Craig! But no, Nicholas is a priest so he isn't going to be sleeping with anyone. The next phase of this story is super fun, I have to say! The device is the last thing on Tyler's mind when Daisy approached him. It seems Tyler is attracted to women that are either forbidden or get involved with a woman only for a short fling. So I'm wondering which category does Daisy lie? Meanwhile, it seems inadvertently Daisy is seeking out to ruin her marriage by continuously lusting after Tyler instead of trying to reconnect with Vinny in order to save their marriage. But it is not a soap if everyone used their common sense. You are right, Tyler is attracted to the forbidden fruit. First Kim and now Daisy, it is a pattern with him for sure. Vinny hiring Lukas really hurts Daisy in a lot of ways which is why she's still drawn to Tyler. It will be interesting to see how long this affair lasts and what will happen when Vinny learns of the betrayal. In the words of Whoopi Goldberg in Ghost "Natasha, you in danger girl." It seems Barbara is having some post trauma from killing Jonah. Meanwhile, it is kind off that Dawn is cordial towards Natasha. but, I'm wondering if Natasha will be able to talk her down? Or maybe both Adam and Robin will get there in time before Barbara loses it literally. Good Episode! Can't wait for tomorrow's daily! HA! Whoopi would be spot on! I love it. Barbara has really lost her rocks right now. Will Adam and Robin save the day? Time will tell. Thanks for reading, much appreciated, Dallas

Great Episode Dallas!!! Wasn't expecting Leah to put two and two together so quickly when it comes to her figuring that Jeff was late to their wedding due to him confronting Meggan about her pregnancy. I wonder how Jeff is going to get out of this messy situation. I wanted Leah to put the pieces to of this together pretty quickly; Jeff has already lied to her about sleeping with Meggan and for the reason he was late to their wedding, so I didn't want him to lie again and drag this out. But you're right, this situation is about to get a lot messier with Leah figuring this all out. Cheresa, Paige, and Abby make a fun trio of girlfriends. It seems that Abby is the type of person who is going to take what she wants and looks as if she wants Andrew come hell or high water. It's like to have the younger set gelling and being friends. It's a nice to have them featured. Will Paige be Andrew's downfall? Time will tell. Lukas had me giggling about giving Daisy tips on how to win the upcoming re-election. Daisy seem like she wasn't that interested. She still seem occupied with Tyler. Meanwhile, I like Vinny was there trying to play the middleman between the siblings. Kim and Tyler making peace was great character growth. Realizing that try as they might they do not belong together as a long-term couple. Can't wait to see how Thursday and Friday will wrap the dallies! Great Episode! Bre When I had the idea to put Lukas and Daisy together at work, I knew that they would have to clash over things since they were already at odds because of Jemma sending Lukas to jail for Frederick's murder. This will sort of continue as the story unfolds. I love that Kim and Tyler have come to peace with each other and with Blake but Kim is still looking out for number one. After all, how will Tyler react when he learns that Kim set his mother up for the fire at the boutique? Thanks for reading! Dallas

Another Good Episode On This Tuesday!!! Cassie leaving for NYC is surprising to me. Cause I thought she would stay in town and give no damns about Natasha as she enters into more of a serious relationship with Robbie. Though, I do believe that Robbie will try to convince her to stay in Twin Peaks. I'm going to do a blog post at the end of the week about this story line development and the thought process behind it. Have we seen the last of Cassie? No, but for the time being she will be moving to NYC. Bob & Kim's vows were touching ... Hell they made Andy cry. But like lot of soap marriages I'm sure it will be quickly tested. This is one wedding that I wanted to actually have happen without a hitch ... more drama will unfold at the reception but after everything Bob and Kim have been through, they deserved some happiness. But like you said, there will be tests already in the relationship with the secret of the fire hanging over their heads. Natasha not feeling well ... I think I know what that means ... I figured that might happen, but I thought it was going to be in a different circumstance. I think Babs might be joining Felicia in Raven Meadow if she does carry out her vendetta against Natasha. Seems like she is still coming to terms killing Jonah. Good Episode! Bre Thursday and Friday's episodes really feature this story line and where it goes. Babs is really starting to lose control ... you just wonder what that means for Dawn. Thanks for reading! D

Good Start To The Week Of Dallies!!! Uh Oh! Max said too much!!! Brad deserves partnership in Meggan's PI business ASAP!!! He has actually solved a case, unlike Meggan who is still trying to figure out what happened to Trenyce and Chris child for going on two years now. Yes, Max has said too much and Robin would have heard everything since Brad was wired. Haha! In poor Meg's defense, trying to find a child that was switched at birth is like finding a needle in a hay stack But, Brad did catch on pretty quickly. Reading about Craig partying is so fun, because for years he has been the town doctor who updates the hospitalized characters friends and family on their condition. Also the guy with the worst luck with romance in Twin Peaks. So it is great to see him getting "Turnt Up" with friends in a nightclub who wants to hookup with a cute guy too. This is definitely a good change for Craig to just let loose. He has been so wrapped up in Lukas and Donovan that he needed a break. His storyline will play out the rest of the week in the dailies! Leah is going to Meggan's pregnancy about herself isn't she? I mean should Jeff be having a heart attack about his ex being pregnant? lol I'm guessing that Barbara or perhaps Robbie and Natasha will cause some mayhem at the wedding? Only time will tell. Good Episode! Bre Jeff and Leah have some pretty intense scenes coming up this week in the future as the pregnancy really causes the truth about the wedding to come out. And, there always has to be some drama at a wedding, right? Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy the rest of the week! Dallas

Poor Helen! She was expecting to possibly reconcile with Adam. So she and I didn't expect that Adam would friend-zone by telling her yeah thank you for your services, but I'm going back to the woman who I told basically we're done. I'm wondering where is this going to lead for Helen? Also to me it seems Robin & Brad might be a nice relationship in a romantic sense they're both involved trying to figure out what Max is hiding? Meanwhile, I agree with Bre that Brad and Robin might be a nice pair. They're both sort of in second position for their love interests, and they seem like nice people. Brad is actually a better PI than Meggan (who is terrible at her job!) since he's trying so hard to get Max to fess up. Max is totally going to crack -- he's so on-edge and it's almost like he wants to get what he did off his chest. And on the other side of this whole story (I genuinely appreciate how this is roping in so many people), poor Helen! That was a good twist with Adam still wanting to be with Robin, but it really sucks for Helen. It is upsetting for Helen but she has to realize that Adam’s feelings didn’t change overnight, but it has sort of created a fun triangle between Adam/Robin/Helen. With Brad involved with Meggan, there might not be much more than friendship/working relationship with Brad and Robin. But yes, it seems like Brad is finally getting to Max … will he cave and finally reveal the truth? And if so, what will Robin do with the truth when she learns it? Barbara is worrying me about her trying to seek some type of revenge if Dawn does re-consider giving up her baby to Natasha. Seems like she might be serious. Should we be concerned about what Barbara is going to do to Natasha?! This storyline is the main feature for this upcoming set of daily episodes! Get ready for a Friday cliffhanger! The scene with Dominick and Tyler was a powerful one too. Tyler obviously got some pleasure in his father finding out about his idea for Roboto. I still wish Dominick tells his son that he is not responsible for Blake's death. I get that Tyler is upset with him, but I'm like it was an accident, besides Kim was driving in terrible weather in order to get away from Bob at the hospital. It was about time for Dominick and Tyler to have a big blow-up over Tyler working at Robertson, which is a very fun reversal of the old/regular dynamic. I'm very ready for Gen Next House! I can tell it's going to be a shitshow for all the younger characters, and I'm here for it! LOL. I love the setup of getting them all into this pressure cooker of an environment, and I bet there will be ripple effects for others. I love the Dominick and Tyler scene because it is always deeper drama, for me, when it is family that is fighting. And because there was the death of a child, emotions are still running high. The GenNext House stuff is coming up soon … I think it starts in July ish. We have some stuff to clean up with Max and Andrew before the house starts Hope we find out more on what is exactly going on with Victoria soon! Good things happen to those who wait … lol … the piece with Victoria will be revealed in time; all aspects of the story have to line up first. I guess Meggan didn't cover up her baby bump in time before Leah put two and two together to know she is pregnant. Leah is going to be like a dog with a bone now that she knows Meggan is pregnant. Leah learning the truth will set off some pretty big scenes with Jeff, Leah and Meggan. Should be fun! Thanks so much for reading guys! I know you’re both busy, so it’s appreciated! Dallas

Finished this miniseries! I've had an insane few weeks in terms of work, personal life, and travel... but now I have bronchitis, so lots of reading time. Ugh. Chasing Diamonds helped me pass the time! I was very eager to see what had gone down in the installments I hadn't gotten to yet. I'm so glad that you took time out of your busy schedule to read the mini-series! I really appreciate it, since I know that you have a lot going on. And you pulled off a TWIST!!! OMFG. I sort of thought it would be a fake-out, and then it wasn't. Whoa! And then to end on a cliffhanger. Ahhhhh!!! I do think you're onto something as far as the more primetime feel of CD working as a miniseries type of thing, but I also want to know what happens. Grr. Although I'm sure you have plans for another miniseries or something similar, so we'll find out. I continued to enjoy Lydia and Lucinda conspiring, though every time Lucinda voices an objection to literally anything, I want someone to tell her to shut her trap or they'll toss her in prison for what she did to Lydia and Houston! It was incredibly soapy how Grant burst into the wedding to expose Houston and then expose Stacey (I almost typed Katy, hahaha) just to hurt Houston -- loved how that played out. I've never really felt like Lex/Grant have had a deep connection, more just a thing of convenience for companionship, so them falling apart seemed kind of inevitable and I can't be too sad. It does seem like there's a ton yet to come out (Carmen killing Celeste, Mateo being her brother, etc.) so I'm looking forward to all that whenever CD returns. You know what's funny, every special or season that I've done, I've always ended it on with a cliff hanger ... it just feels soapy that way. I really thought going into this mini-series that it would be the last for a while ... then I write this and I immediately get more ideas of where to go next. I've started to outline the next arch. I'm not sure when it will come out but it is in the works! I'm glad you liked the major twist in episode two. To be honest, I really felt like the character of Celeste had run it's course and I thought this was a great way to see her off. Of course, it wouldn't be fun to end the series with that, so there had to be another cliff hanger. I loved the wedding stuff too because it was so over the top. Every wedding on this series has had huge drama, why end that now? One of the main reasons I left Grant on the series was because Armie Hammer is a babe haha. We'll see where Grant and Lex go from here. Stacey and Houston are both idiots, btw! You both have what you want -- leave well enough alone. I get how it all happened, but yikes. Learn a lesson! I'm sure they will reunite in time, but you'd think after what they have been through (literal death!), they'd chill out and keep things in perspective. Cripes. Just hard to feel bad for them both being so dumb. Though I get Houston being pissy about Lex taking on the Blackmore heir role after Houston grew up as an only child. You're right, they do have to learn of to get a perspective. I think the main aspect of the primetime series vs. ODaaT is that things happen so quickly that people never really seem to learn or grow from what has happened cause the story moves so fast. My main goal with this series was to focus a lot on Lex vs. Houston cause I feel like this was really an aspect that hadn't been touched on yet in the series. All the Vivian/Madi/Chase backstory is a little muddy to me, but like I said before, having a new family unit grow out of established stuff is fun. And Madi being falsely accused of the murder is so classic. Never say you could kill someone if they've pissed you off and you're a soap character! It will always be used against you! Hahaha. I did enjoy Sabine throwing shade at Vivian -- good of someone in Kelsey Lake to have a memory about past wrongs! It seemed very dumb of Deacon to not tell Sabine what he was actually looking for, but it seems she found it anyway. I suspect she'll figure out a way to pull a switcheroo (or, like, give Deacon the documents but make copies first?!), so that should be interesting to see. So, in my mind the way it all went down was that Kent and Viv were married; she slept with Chase and ended up preggers with Madi, which is how the Kent/Viv marriage ended and Kent moved on with Lydia. But I did think that Madi getting arrested for the murder was also a classic soap. The Deacon story (at least so far) is fleshed out more in the next arch! Definitely doesn't feel like an ending, so I hope we'll see more CD soonish! My one criticism of the miniseries format is that it feels like we race through a LOT of stuff so fast -- like, I don't think we really saw Marat reacting to Celeste's death, and there was no mention of their child, which felt significant. But a fun miniseries overall, and I hope there will be more, since these people can't stay out of trouble! It's interesting because one of the first scenes that I have in my outline for the next arch is Marat with the child, because I too didn't like that it was left out of this arch. Like I said, I don't know when it will be out but there is definitely another arch coming soon (and likely another one after that since I have a great idea for the future)! Thanks so much for reading! I really appreciate it! D
