First of all, I must say congratulations on 20 years of One Day At A Time! 20 years is a long time, and I hope to see it go on for many years to come.
I had a feeling months ago that the Chief of Staff was going to turn out to be a return from the dead Frederick. I can't wait to find out how he survived, and all of the victims are still out there paying for all of the terrible things he has done, including his children.
Speaking of characters who've returned from the dead, I didn't expect Cassie to show up so soon to clear Max. Nonetheless, something tells me she might escape prison time herself somehow. I did smile when Simona didn't buy Max's lie about not knowing where Cassie was. I did appreciate Paige's telling Jacob that she isn't some prize he can compete for. Though I hope she maintains the same attitude towards Max when he gets out of line too.
And I thought for a second that Adam and Robin were about to have sex on the bed on top of her wedding dress, e.g., Max and Blair from One Life To Live. It's evident Robin is still very much in love with Adam but knows she could possibly lose Dominique if she doesn't go through with the wedding to Shane.
This is a great start to the week of daily reading, and I can't wait to read them all.
Congratulations to 20

First of all, I must say congratulations on 20 years of One Day At A Time! 20 years is a long time, and I hope to see it go on for many years to come. THANK YOU! Your readership and dedication to the series over the years is really appreciated! I had a feeling months ago that the Chief of Staff was going to turn out to be a return from the dead Frederick. I can't wait to find out how he survived, and all of the victims are still out there paying for all of the terrible things he has done, including his children. Yes, I agree with you on this - this is why I let this reveal come on a Monday because it wasn't a HUGE shock considering how many times Frederick has been in everyone's mouths lately. His return will impact so many people and start a new era on ODaaT. We will find out about his survival soon and there are plenty of secrets coming with his return. Cassie is a protective Mama Bear; as soon as Max told her that he was in jail, she needed to come home so he could be saved. Remember her phone call with Max though, she claimed to have had a "get out of jail free" card. This will be a huge twist in this storyline and really change the dynamics of it. Paige is fed-up with Jacob and Max's bickering, but she is blaming Jacob more right now because he got Max arrested. Congratulations to 20 Bre HAHA I didn't even think of that but that would have been a great scene! In any event, there are some scenes coming up that will change this dynamic, again, for this quad. Thanks for reading - I hope you enjoy the rest of the week - it really does become a wild ride! Congratulations on celebrating 20 years since the debut of ODAAT! That's a *huge* milestone, and it's impressive you're going stronger than ever after all this time -- not to mention producing other series at the same time. It's really amazing! And what better way to celebrate than by having a whole bunch of stories reaching crescendos during an action-packed week?
I knew it!!! As you said above, making the reveal of Frederick the Monday cliffhanger was smart, because we had so many breadcrumbs by this point that we kinda knew it would turn out to be him, and the real intrigue is in figuring out why he's doing what he's doing and where things go from here. You seem to be positioning him as a Stefano DiMera/James Stenbeck type with this resurrection, and he's got his hands in a lot of stuff: Raven's Meadow, Victoria/Vinny, Leah's missing child, etc. And of course, Leah is lamenting that she'll probably never know anything about that child because Frederick is dead... just as we see that he very much is not! Plus Abby is now looking into Felicia's instability and has made the connection to Frederick. His reappearance could make for a very fun, wide-ranging umbrella storyline. I have to admit that I'm a little confused about a lot of the specifics on this. If Frederick's being alive is such a secret, why and how is he going to what is presumably a busy hospital to sit in an office every day, and why was it so easy for Victoria to walk in there and see him? And if Frederick knows (through Bryce) that Vinny is alive and impersonating Brett, doesn't that basically neutralize Vinny's hold over Bryce? They could expose him just as easily as he could expose Frederick being alive and the most prominent staff member of a hospital (which I will never understand being a mystery, but he's obviously a shady guy). And why does Frederick care about keeping Victoria drugged? Bryce is only doing it because he's under Vinny's thumb, right? I'm sure this will all become clear as the story plays out, but I'm definitely confused as of now.
I really liked the soapiness of Adam coming to Robin in the lead-up to her wedding to Shane and pressing her about her true feelings. They've both backed down way too easily too many times during all this, so it's nice to see some passion between them as they fight against the odds to be together. I also obviously loved Cassie showing up, and I have a pretty good idea what her "get out of jail free" card is going to be, based upon her activities just before everyone took off from Twin Peaks for Banff...
Robbie is totally losing it. I wonder how long Kim will stand for this. Robbie vs Tyler is definitely the new generation of Bob vs Dominick, and it seems the sons have learned nothing from the sins of the fathers.
Looking forward to the rest of the week!

And what better way to celebrate than by having a whole bunch of stories reaching crescendos during an action-packed week? THANK YOU for all your support over the years! Your dedication to reading and commenting is really appreciated! I knew it!!! As you said above, making the reveal of Frederick the Monday cliffhanger was smart, because we had so many breadcrumbs by this point that we kinda knew it would turn out to be him, and the real intrigue is in figuring out why he's doing what he's doing and where things go from here. Plus Abby is now looking into Felicia's instability and has made the connection to Frederick. His reappearance could make for a very fun, wide-ranging umbrella storyline. Yes, this is exactly why I brought the character back right now; Frederick has so many connections to people on the series, it will create a very big umbrella storyline that will impact, literally, half the cast. This sets up so many different opportunities, and it is fun. Plus, with his name on everyone's lips lately, it seemed natural not to have this as a "Friday cliffhanger". So, what Bryce doesn't know, currently, that Vinny and Frederick are working together. Because of this, Vinny's quest to keep Victoria drugged as a part of his revenge, is also Frederick's goal. And this is how Vinny was able to blackmail Bryce by threatening to expose his boss as Frederick, because Bryce doesn't know their connection. This is more explained once we have scenes with Frederick and Vinny, which come after this week plays out. Hopefully that clears up some of the confusion. The piece about the COS not being public knowledge; I've always just imagined Raven's Meadow like this old, gothic, nut house that no one really pays attention too. In theory, anyone could find out the identity, but I would also assume that Frederick would have an alias in that case. But I agree, a loop hole in the storyline. One of the side storylines this week, will be whether or not Robin & Shane will be married, because it could go either way, at this point. It's sort of fun to see it. And yes, I love that Cassie is back! She's always been one of my fav characters and she creates a jolt of energy on the series when she is on. Her "get out of jail" card will really shake things up for Max/Paige/Jacob/Natasha/Shane ... Robbie is totally losing it. I wonder how long Kim will stand for this. Robbie vs Tyler is definitely the new generation of Bob vs Dominick, and it seems the sons have learned nothing from the sins of the fathers. Looking forward to the rest of the week! Robbie is really being a poor loser in this modelling bid with Cheresa; and you know what they say, the best laid plans ... But I do love that Robbie/Tyler is the next generation ... it is what makes soaps go round lol. Thanks so much for reading - enjoy the rest of the week! Dallas

Oh! That makes sense about Vinny and Frederick secretly being in cahoots. Makes a lot of this fit together better. Thanks for explaining!

A lot happened in today's episode for sure!
I thought Adam would definitely find out about Shane and Helen's plan way before the wedding started, so I was surprised that the ceremony went through anyway. I can't wait for the confrontation between Adam and Helen tomorrow. It seems Shane is willing to accept scraps from Robin. I guess he figures he has her and Dominique under his roof. It doesn't matter to him. He was probably thinking he could get her to come around.
I wasn't expecting Frederick to want to do a lobotomy on Victoria, though he is insane enough to do so while Bryce is torn between the woman he has fallen for and his sense of duty. I wonder if he will stand up for her or go along with this plan?
I enjoyed Andy confronting Clayton over the kiss he had with Nicholas and calling him out on the only person who keeps mentioning Reese is him. I doubt Clayton is leaving town, but in his mind, he feels he has no one. I wonder what will make him stay in town if he does?
Now I'm beginning to see light shed on Robbie's plan by creating a stalker for Cheresa, which will become a publicity nightmare for Robertson. But I'm wondering if this situation will become serious or not. And I didn't know Dawn was working at the hospital, though I recall she did want to be a nurse, so I'm glad she finally has something to do other than whine about her parents not being together.
Can't wait for the conclusion with tomorrow's episode.
Great Episode!!! Bre

I can't wait for the confrontation between Adam and Helen tomorrow. It seems Shane is willing to accept scraps from Robin. I guess he figures he has her and Dominique under his roof. It doesn't matter to him. He was probably thinking he could get her to come around. I really wanted Shane/Robin to be married before the truth came out about Shane & Helen's plan was revealed because it adds another element of a wrinkle in the quest for Adam/Robin to be reunited. But the question becomes, will Robin ever come around to be married to Shane? I wasn't expecting Frederick to want to do a lobotomy on Victoria, though he is insane enough to do so while Bryce is torn between the woman he has fallen for and his sense of duty. I wonder if he will stand up for her or go along with this plan? This is such a wild twist and I love the idea of a lobotomy ... it makes sense that a nut house that is Raven's Meadow would want to perform this. This is a big storyline tomorrow, obviously. I enjoyed Andy confronting Clayton over the kiss he had with Nicholas and calling him out on the only person who keeps mentioning Reese is him. I doubt Clayton is leaving town, but in his mind, he feels he has no one. I wonder what will make him stay in town if he does? I love that you mentioned this on twitter too because no one has said that to Clayton; he is just trying to navigate the fact that he has a brother, sister, and a brother in law that he never knew about. And because Andy and Reese were so close, he does feel like they want Reese back. But Andy needed to say that for sure. Bre THe letter really might be a part of Robbie's plan; we will see more of this unfold in future episodes, but this will really become a bigger umbrella storyline as we move along. And yes, Dawn is now at the hospital! Thanks for reading - I hope you enjoy the rest of the week!

Aye! What a week! Frederick trying to lobotomize Victoria is certainly one way to come back with a bang. Thank goodness there are apparently paperweights all over that mental hospital, LOL. The idea of Bryce and Victoria going on the run is exciting, though I'm not sure how safe she will feel with him once she learns what he has done to her (even if it was somewhat against his will). I wonder what Frederick's next move is going to be, too.
Daisy is being pretty smart by keeping "Brett" occupied while they await the results of the DNA test. It does seem like Vinny is awfully close to being exposed, after all this time. I wonder what Frederick would think about Vinny targeting his daughters, Daisy and Meggan. And I know Daisy is busy, but she might want to check in on Trenyce, who's in a whole lot of mess right now. She and Andrew need to stay far away from one another -- this is icky enough as it is, plus Trenyce is pregnant with someone else's baby while this is going on. I can't imagine the Lawsons will have much confidence in her abilities as a mother to Brad's baby if and when this flirtation with Andrew comes out.
I liked Will crossing into Clayton's storyline to encourage him to stay and get to know his family. And I also appreciated that Andy finally brought up how Clayton tortured him and tried to drive him insane! Everyone has moved on from that WAY too quickly. There's no innocent explanation for why he thought that was an okay thing to do.
And it looks like the action will keep moving, as we have the cliffhanger of just what Helen is going to admit to Adam. She seemed to cave pretty easily for someone with such high stakes on the line, so I won't be surprised if she lies her way out of this, or at least attempts to. Regardless, Robin is now married to Shane, which makes this all a lot messier.
Thanks for another week of daily entertainment, and congrats again on hitting 20 years online!

The idea of Bryce and Victoria going on the run is exciting, though I'm not sure how safe she will feel with him once she learns what he has done to her (even if it was somewhat against his will). I wonder what Frederick's next move is going to be, too. While the lobotomy didn't go through, the idea that Frederick was going to give Vic one, and the image of the drill next to her head was so much fun! This does set up another chapter of this storyline as now Bryce is saving Victoria after being the one to drug her for so long, and now we will see Frederick's plan unfold. This will really become a big umbrella storyline. I can't imagine the Lawsons will have much confidence in her abilities as a mother to Brad's baby if and when this flirtation with Andrew comes out. Daisy seducing Vinny is risky enough because rarely does that go as planned in the long run lol. But we've, seemingly, been on the brink of Vinny being exposed for a while now - you can tell that he feels like the walls are closing in on him too. And yes, Trey & Andrew should stay away from one another but how often does that happen on soaps? I liked Will crossing into Clayton's storyline to encourage him to stay and get to know his family. And I also appreciated that Andy finally brought up how Clayton tortured him and tried to drive him insane! Everyone has moved on from that WAY too quickly. There's no innocent explanation for why he thought that was an okay thing to do. Will's suggestion will do a couple of things: 1- make Clayton reconsider leaving town, which means his storyline with Madeline/Andy/Nicholas will continue. and 2 - it will help Madeline/Will reconnect more as she will be grateful for his support and wisdom. Yes, Bingo! I always wanted Shane/Robin to be married before the truth came out because, technically, it is harder to break up or split up now (even though divorces are common on soaps). We will see if Helen does tell the truth and how Adam will react! Thanks again for reading and all your support! Dallas
