Just caught up on the first two installments!
I'm so ready for Carmen to get her comeuppance. She's so smug and yet careless. It's gonna be GOOD when this all blows up in her face. I suspect you're being secretive about the identity of her new Tinder lover for a reason... very curious to see how that plays out. I was also shocked that Madi encountered Janice in prison! I really thought that was someone we'd never see again. That's a fun way to tie things back to the very start of the series. I had kind of forgotten that Lydia and Lucinda knew Celeste was actually out there. Cole didn't seem too fazed by them letting Madi go to jail for a crime that didn't even really happen!
I kept thinking Celeste and Mac would also go to Cabo. I guess San Antonio gets them closer...
Sabine leaving town makes sense. There isn't much left here for her if Kent won't give her another chance, and she's being mature by trying to move on with her life. I also don't really blame Stacey for not trusting Houston. This isn't the first time he's had an illicit affair with one of her relatives, though of course the circumstances were a lot different for him and Lydia. Was I getting a vibe between Stacey and Kent?! I actually expected them to have hate-sex a long time ago, and it would complete the circle in such a dysfunctional way... Oh, and I really liked that moment of Lucinda encouraging Stacey to maybe reunite with Houston for Drake's sake. Even the way Lucinda said she'd deny ever saying that was funny and in-character.
Dyhannah/Marat is a fresh new angle. Curious to see what you'll do with that.
Eagerly awaiting the next installment!

Thank you for catching up! usually, I release everything all at once with this series but I thought it would be more fun to play out each episode this go around. Carmen ... yes, she is smug. She's just so desperate to hold on to everything she has now. It will be interesting to see this play out. And, you will see her Tinder lover very soon ... Based on how everything plays out this mini-series, I knew Madi would be in jail for sometime but I still wanted her to DO something other than get visitors ... so I had the idea to reintroduce Janice. This will be the start of the next chapter for Madi, that is for sure. Dyhannah/Marat is a fresh new angle. Curious to see what you'll do with that. Eagerly awaiting the next installment! With Celeste having to keep Mac's identity a secret, I didn't think them going to Cabo would make sense ... with airports/security etc being involved, but that would have been great if someone there had seen them! With Sabine, I was just sort of at a crossroads ... she's slept with the entire canvas, so I thought it was fitting to sort of put her to rest for now. I already have ideas on how she can return but it's good to put people away for awhile at times. And, you're 100% right with Houston, that's why I wanted Kent to mention it in their confrontation about Houston's past because it's not his first rodeo. Stacey and Kent? They are former almost step father and step daughter! Lol, anything is possible in Kelsey Lake. Thanks so much for reading - I hope you like the rest of the series! Dallas

I read three installments by the pool with cocktails yesterday! Thanks for a day of light reading to help me relax. I knew you were building to something between Kent and Stacey!! Way to try and throw me off the scent. There's been so much near-incest and cross-pollination that it was bound to happen at some point. I wonder if this means Stacey will forgive Houston, since they've basically done the same thing to each other now. It's not like she has some great moral leg to stand on, considering how many times she bounced between him and Marat and was unfaithful. But Stacey and Kent weren't even the most shocking sexual rendezvous in this episode! I can't believe Cole actually had sex with Casper. Casper was being pushy and unprofessional, but he didn't even have to work that hard to make it happen. Interesting to pick up the thread of Cole's hook-up with Brock from back in the day. I can't imagine Madi is going to love this when it comes out! Mateo turning on Lex, and Grant showing up and coming to the rescue, was very classic soap. Nice to get some adventure elements in there. You've done a good job of diversifying the types of stories, between that and the Celeste/Mac on the run thing. I can't believe Celeste stupidly admitted to having drugged him to keep his memory at bay. And oh no, this pregnancy is going to make for quite the messy set of circumstances going forward. You really do a nice job of finding elements to propel the story forward just as it would otherwise settle down. I admit I'm not that invested in Vivian and Chase being together, so Vivian getting one over on Dyhannah didn't excite me that much -- but I do like the Dyhannah/Marat pairing. You have so many people swirling around the Rockwells now that it's fun to find ways to make those different 'satellites' interact. And I know I already tweeted to you about this, but I can't believe you got in a "Beast? How dare you!" moment. Dying! Congrats on another successful mini-series!

I read three installments by the pool with cocktails yesterday! Thanks for a day of light reading to help me relax. WHERE WAS MY INVITE? Lol, jk. I'm glad you were able to find some relaxing time considering everything going on right now. I knew you were building to something between Kent and Stacey!! Way to try and throw me off the scent. There's been so much near-incest and cross-pollination that it was bound to happen at some point. I wonder if this means Stacey will forgive Houston, since they've basically done the same thing to each other now. Casper was being pushy and unprofessional, but he didn't even have to work that hard to make it happen. Interesting to pick up the thread of Cole's hook-up with Brock from back in the day. I can't imagine Madi is going to love this when it comes out! I was pretty skeptical of going down the Stacey/Kent path because I truly realized that literally everyone has now fucked everyone on the series but it really made sense in the storyline, especially with Sabine leaving for New York. It will be interesting too because now she's preggers, meaning Drake's brother is also his uncle haha. Only in soaps, right? With Madi being in jail the entire time of this mini-series, I still wanted Cole to get laid in some capacity. I really loved the Brock/Cole scene(s) from back in the day and that's where I got the idea to revisit this idea that Cole does have a fluidity in his sexuality. Of course, if/when Madi learns about this, she will be pissed. I mean, it's one thing to cheat but to cheat with another man? It will be even more of a betrayal, I think. Yay! I'm glad you liked the Lex/Mateo/Grant stuff in Cabo. I thought the action-adventure material was different for Chasing Diamonds in the sense that most of the drama takes place in Kelsey Lake and it's not as action packed, but I loved the idea of this high stakes drama playing out this way. And for sure Celeste's pregnancy will complicate things for Mac going forward because he still is married to Carmen, has Lydia pinning away after him and he has trust issues with Celeste now that he knows she was drugging him. It will come down to whether or not their time spent together was real for him and if he truly still loves her. Also, Cole's reaction to this reunion will be interesting since he and Celeste spent much of the regular seasons going back and forth with each other. It sets up the next mini-series well. [quote author=I admit I'm not that invested in Vivian and Chase being together, so Vivian getting one over on Dyhannah didn't excite me that much -- but I do like the Dyhannah/Marat pairing. Congrats on another successful mini-series![/quote] I do think that the one aspect of the mini-series that truly did lack was the Dyhannah/Vivian/Chase storyline, but it was more of just keeping them present so they can be beefed up in future segments. It would have been weird to not see them at all this arch. And, I wanted to keep Marat around too for when Celeste returned to town, so I thought the idea of him and Dyhannah would be fun. We'll see where it goes! Thanks so much for reading! I always appreciate your commentary. Dallas
