First off, it was great to stop in Twink Peaks. I'm finally caught up on all the juicy goodness. Here is a run down of my thoughts on the featured stories thus far. I hope to be back to comment on the whole Helen/Casey/Cassie/Nutasha/Trenyce sage.
Robbie/Leah/Victoria - Well, I don't fault Robbie at all for being angry and disillusioned with Leah. He has every right to be. It was bad enough that she forsake her wedding vows for a man he can't stand, she ended up pregnant with said man's baby and ultimately decided to deceive Robbie into believing the child was his. It really just compounds the betrayal, and I don't think Leah is going find a band-aid big enough to heal this wound. Of course, in her defense, she did not intend to deceive her husband at first. Hell, if she had not been so distraught and frantic over what might happen to her unborn child if Robbie died, Dominic may not have disclosed to her that Jeff was really Paige's father. But alas, she did know, and even after recommitting herself to her marriage, she continued to be emotionally drawn to Jeff because of Noah's death. So really, the marriage had been in trouble for quite some time, arguably since the day Noah ran out into the road, prey for a drunken Meggan (thank god she's gone
. Ordinarily, I would root for a married couple to find their way back to one another, but I don't think I can with Robbie and Leah. It doesn't feel to me they are meant to be. As for his dalliance with Victoria, I wish we were given some prior context to them finally committing the deed. To think that he just went over to Victoria's, of all places, to wind up in her bed just feels a little off to me. Especially when Victoria is now citing garbage about not wanting to be a re-bound girl. Umm--too late, you fool. But considering he threw the tryst in Leah's face the next morning, perhaps it was a revenge thing and Victoria was just there.
Jeff/Veronica - I've been curious to see Veronica's reaction to all this. It was very understanding of her to step back and allow Jeff time to process the shocking reveal about Paige's paternity. I'm not sure at lot of women in her situation would have reacted the same way. Unfortunately, like most women that get involved with Jeff, she's doomed to end up a casualty of his hard-on for Leah. He's upset right now, but part of that is his bruised ego. After some time, I suspect he will be panting after Leah like the dog he is.
Dean/Reese/Madeline - Wow, this is the first time I have been able to tolerate Maddie in a scene for quite sometime. Now that I got my positive out of the way
, why is the daughter of two criminal masterminds such an idiot?! Did she
really think that blowing up Leah and Jeff's affair would stop Robin and Cory from re-marrying? I'm thrilled it all blew up in her face, and I can't wait until she gets her just desserts!! I do
NOT feel sorry for her. Yes, Cory had his hang-up at times, but ultimately, he told her he wanted Robin. She should have just moved on. There are eligible bachelors in Twin Peaks: Donovan (wait, he's gay); umm... Dominic. #lmao
Okay, maybe there isn't quite an extensive pool of men after all. Speaking of Dominic, I had hoped maybe he would go all Sopranos and abduct her when he confronted her, but since she is sharing a scene with Reese in the latest episode, it appears she has escaped unscathed for now. I'm not sure what to expect from her visit with Cory, it could go either way depending how she plays it. Maybe once Leah finds out that Madeline blew the lid on everything, we will see some fireworks.
As for Reese, the poor thing hasn't had much luck finding someone decent since Andy (save for his brief romance with Craig). Refresh my memory, but wasn't he with someone before Craig? If I recall correctly, the guy got him hooked on drugs or something, and may have even tried to pimp him out for sex. This was right that whole Trenyce/Andy pregnancy mess was revealed. Anyhow, Dean appears the latest in a string of ill-conceived hook-ups. While comedic to read, the video was both skeevy and underhanded. To drug your boyfriend with a blue pill (happy pill??) and
let him do a solo instead of an action flick film/upload a video of your boyfriend pleasing himself is unbelievable. Clearly Dean is only invested in how he can profit off of Reese good looks. Reese needs to kick him to the curb and collect his residual check.
I would rather see him mixed it up with Donovan's and co., even at the risk of another Andy/Reese saga.
Vinny/Daisy - I'm happy to see Daisy getting some loving, but the jury is still out for me on whether I want to see their friendship turn into a romance. It looks like Daisy not quite sure either, so I'll just join her for the ride.
Eva/Will/Ernesto et al - I was thinking it would been interesting if Eva was behind the attack on Victoria as a way of getting rid of Ernesto, but it appears he's behind that and Eva recent foreplay with a knife. I guess he wants to let his family know he can get to them at anytime. On another note, can Eva please stop calling Victoria "Marbella?" I now cringe for her every time I hear it. Apologies in advance for anyone who knows or is name Marbella, but yeah, not my top pick for best girl names.
