Hey! I'm on a flight and have had a bunch of wine, so I paid for wifi and got caught up on ODAAT (I was only 2-3 behind).

I continue to be surprised by how interested I am in the Jeff/Meggan pairing. It sounds ridiculous on the surface, but I always say that the things that sound implausible sometimes make for the best drama, as long as all that conflict and complication is built in and not ignored. I like how Jeff keeping pushing her away because of these various milestones. It's realistic, and he should be conflicted. And good for Meggan for standing up for herself and walking out on him.

I also like how the Robbie/Victoria dynamic has flipped. This is good drama to be milking out of Leah's death a year later. The court case felt a little abrupt and vague to me -- we didn't really get any new info, and the legal stuff felt a little mushy -- but I appreciate what it's done for all these characters. If you ask me, Victoria doesn't have much to apologize for, but I get why she'd be concerned and why Robbie would lash out if he knew the truth.

Paige's crush on Shane kinda came out of nowhere, but I like what it sets up. The two teens are integrated with the adults in an interesting way. It would've been very forced to try and cram a whole new teen triangle or something into the series, and this is a much more organic way of using them.

And can I say that I always laugh at that photo of Linda Dano (Melissa) in the huge yellow turtleneck? I don't know why, but it's so hilarious to me. I gasped at that moment when Cory finally came face-to-face with her, though. It's time for this to get moving! I like the potential here.

This storyline is really one of my favorites since the Lake Tahoe arch because it just has such long legs. The point of the trial was really for two things: 1 - Paige to testify and become even more upset with her two Dad's and 2 - To have Victoria be the one keeping a secret from Robbie. Robbie, more so than any other character, has been the one really changed my Leah's death. Victoria being the one to take the house away from him is really huge for the couple. Of course, on soaps, secrets never stay buried forever.

I'm glad that you like the pairing of Jeff and Meggan. Even though Meg was sort of put in with Daisy & Vinny when I first brought her back to the series, my idea was for her and Jeff to be together after Leah died. I'm glad the back and forth isn't getting old yet, because I too thought it would be very realistic for him to push her away during milestone tragedies in his life.

Yes, I agree it did. I should have been better at writing little scenes in. The "crush" storyline really moves forward from here on and you will see her feelings develop. I'm very picky about getting too big of a cast, so I didn't want to do the typical "teen" triangle storyline. This crush story has very long legs ... I love where it goes!

HA! Do you know I struggle finding good pictures of Linda Dano so I almost always use that one. This Melissa/Cory story has another big surprise next episode and then it really picks up steam again after the summer storm!
