The final daily episode from One Day at a Time, #300 "In the Arms of the Angel" has been released. In this episode: - Friends and family gather to say goodbye - Reese tells Trenyce not to waste time with foolishness - Madeline and Reese share a tender moment and MUCH more! Episode theme song: "Angel" Sarah McLachlan I've also recorded a VLOG for the 300th episode. The VLOG does contain spoilers, so I recommend reading the episode then watching. It can be viewed here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bl8eoQ27idkThanks and Happy Reading! Dallas

Oh my goodness.
First of all, congratulations on reaching your 300th episode. That's a very rare milestone, and your commitment to ODAAT and to the webseries community has been so steady and apparent the past several years. Thanks for providing entertainment for a lot of people and for supporting others, too. It's been a pleasure watching your work develop.
I knew this journey was going to have to end with Reese passing away, but it was still really difficult to watch it happen. I'm glad that he and Andy were able to be married before it happened and that you took the time to give him goodbyes with the important people. The most touching thing, for me, might've been when he said he had seen Preston and Olivia, and Madeline thought back to asking them to be there with Reese. I also appreciated how you used his illness to spark some other interesting interactions, like Trenyce and Savannah talking about a truce, Savannah and Madeline brushing aside their tension for the greater good, etc. I kind of can't believe you've actually killed him off -- and really killed him off, not in a soapy "his airplane went down" kind of way." Very curious to see how Andy and others move forward now.
It was an interesting choice to theme this week after goodbyes. Felicia's outburst at Leah's memorial was classic soap (though I'm mad we didn't get to see the actual fallout!). I can't wait to see Bob get what he has coming to him. Jeff's moment of catharsis at the end of the week was also moving. It's going to be a long road back to feeling whole again for him, but beginning to clear out the closet is a strong first step toward accepting what's happened. I also think it was really wise to use this event to bring back the teenage Paige. Too often, bringing in teens feels random and like these new people have just been thrust in the audience's faces, but her connection to Leah's death is (obviously) so crucial that it feels organic. I was also intrigued by that surprising scene of Paige and Meggan talking. I love crosses like that.
Oh, and I'm SO glad that Vinny seemed to be on to Meggan so quickly. I was going to be really annoyed if he'd somehow believed that Daisy had gotten herself locked in with Chris on purpose (since the door clearly locked from the outside...).
Again, congratulations! You've really achieved something big. Here's to more ODAAT!

Thanks for providing entertainment for a lot of people and for supporting others, too. It's been a pleasure watching your work develop. Thank you so much for those kind words, Michael. I am truly inspired by the work of other web series out there, like Footprints and The Blackthornes, to name a couple. One of the things I'm most proud of is when I came back from hiatus in2009 is that I have been able to consistently release new material. I always like to have at least 10 episodes in the bank in case life happens. Very curious to see how Andy and others move forward now. Yea, the writing was on the wall with Reese with the spoilers I gave. I really didn't want another potential death like Leah so close together [no body etc]. This is a very different tale. It's the most real story I've told and I'm proud of the way it was handled. Having Andy marry Reese was a must for me because as a couple they deserved that. I also wanted to ensure Preston & Olivia were mentioned because it made sense. I tried to make Reese's death push forward other stories, like Treynce/Savannah/Chris. As for going forward, I love Andy's new story! I was also intrigued by that surprising scene of Paige and Meggan talking. I love crosses like that. I didn't do the fall out, only cause in my mind nothing else would have happened after Reese fainted. I love those soapy moments though, with Felicia at the funeral. I'm glad you're liking Paige's return! I plan ahead so sending her away when I did, I knew this is how she'd come back. Same with Dawn, although her story comes into light this fall. Believe me when I say, there's good reason for the Paige/Meggan scene! (Which, I loved writing! Paige being snarky was fun) Oh, and I'm SO glad that Vinny seemed to be on to Meggan so quickly. I was going to be really annoyed if he'd somehow believed that Daisy had gotten herself locked in with Chris on purpose (since the door clearly locked from the outside...). Again, congratulations! You've really achieved something big. Here's to more ODAAT! Yup, this story is one that changes directions pretty quickly. Neither Daisy nor Vinny are dumb and I like to play that. Thanks so much for reading and all your support over the years! xo D
