So I'm just getting caught up and took a break mid-way through to leave some comments! Episodes 1 - 4 were great reads, zippy, and easy to follow. Such a departure from ODaaT, though as you and I have discussed, it's great to try your hand at something different. I must say you've done great with small details to really bring the story and setting to life. Pender Island sounds like a great place (until you find out what's going on in your fictional depiction of it!). Even then, it's fun to see how the families are just like everyday people but with their own way of doing things. Eat rat tails and deer hooves! Why not? LOL
The most compelling thing to me is the romance between Axel and Reagan. I really love how conflicted Axel is because of his mother's need to keep their identities a secret. It's a race against time to see if Reagan will uncover the truth, while at the same time keeping Agatha from doing anything to harm her. And to top it off, the ghost of Jake coming back to spy on Reagan, and getting aroused by her at the same time! That is amazing!!! I love it. So creepy and dark.
The presence of the witch hunters are a nice touch because it adds some great tension to the character's we've already grown to care for. Agatha was just on her way to come up with a spell to stop the hunters at the end of the episode I just read, so I'm excited to see how it turns out.
One and only complaint so far: Drew Barrymore killed off in the first scene! Aaaaah! It's like SCREAM all over again.
Nice job. More thoughts to come soon.

It is different than ODaaT but I always told myself if I had another series, it would be different than ODaaT because I don't need another classic soap. I'm glad you're enjoying the craziness that is going on. And, Pender is a great place! If you ever get the chance to go, I recommend it. I find so peaceful because it is so remote. Before my inlaws retired there, there was no TV or computer so it was a great escape. I worked on making Axel and Reagan rootable because they are one of the main focal points of the story. The witch hunters coming to the island is the other bug plot point, things get good where you left off! And yes, I love the horny ghost Jake. He was a lot of fun to write! Scream was actually my inspiration for the opening scene! I thought of Drew when I was writing it, hence the casting call! Thanks for reading, appreciate it Dzkw
