Okay, no way can Brandy sustain this reign of terror much longer. Thank god people are starting to catch on and get fired up. I only hope it's in time for poor Helen to be saved from the ground! I get why Donovan and Eva would be resistant to accepting that Victoria's DID has returned, but it's so selfish and shitty of them to be in denial when their loved one clearly needs help, if nothing else. I do find it interesting how this conflict is now pushing Lukas and Craig back together. And I love that Craig has a fire under him now! He's often been a more passive character, so to see him really drive action could be a great change of pace. And I'm actually not hating Lukas now that he's supporting Craig in this. Who knew?
Brooke didn't exactly move me with her sob story about the way Cheresa was adopted, though I know it must be emotional for her and Greg to carry around this secret. It sounds like they acted from a place of total privilege, rules be damned, in order to have a third child, because the system wasn't working fast enough for them. Still, it'll be major upheaval when the truth comes out, and it's a compelling position to put Brad in. I wonder how things will be between him and Meggan now. I could see this really fracturing them as she wants to tell the truth and he's hesitant to do so.
Simona continues to be such a soap opera cop -- storming down to the hospital to announce that she can arrest Bob if/when he wakes up, like it's any real news! At least she's stopped badgering people about whether she can question their comatose loved ones. I wonder if Kim is somehow going to fake Bob still being in a coma even when he awakens just so he can avoid arrest.
I'm still not buying that Cassie has anything resembling pure motives with Jacob, though I think it's possible she's convinced herself that she does. I really just don't think that woman has the capacity for "pure motives." She's driven by getting a rise out of people.
Looking forward to February sweeps!

Who knew? You know, one of the best parts of this story from a writer's perspective is that it has turned into an umbrella story that is impacting so many people. Helen, Adam, Dawn, Robin, Eva, Donovan, Craig, Lukas, Shane … there are so many moving parts, which is part of the excitement. You have a good point about Donovan/Eva turning a blind eye even though their loved one is in need; the good news is that they are slowly coming around, of course slowly is the key word. And to me it made sense to have Lukas and Craig bond over this as Lukas was really supportive while Craig believed he was sick. And, a natural conflict emerges with Donovan wanting to believe Victoria while Lukas sides with Craig. It sort of revitalizes the triangle. The Lawson's obtaining Cheresa was 100% a white privilege story/move on their part. Rich white people always seem to get what they want, rules be damned. I kinda had that in mind when I was writing the back story. Of course, now that Brad knows the full story, he is really going to be caught between a rock and a hard place: will he tell Meggan the truth? Or will he keep his parent's secret? If He wants to keep his parents secret, how will he stop Meg from telling Chris & Treynce the truth? Many different angles to play off of, which again is fun. HA! Yes, Simona is a true blood soap cop. In her defense, I do think she has been feeling the pressure coming from Tyler and Dominick, who are not being patient in wanting someone, mostly Bob, to pay for the fire and putting Felicia in Raven's Meadow for the better part of a year. But, they aren't being logical in their quest with Bob being laid up. I'm still not buying that Cassie has anything resembling pure motives with Jacob, though I think it's possible she's convinced herself that she does. I really just don't think that woman has the capacity for "pure motives." She's driven by getting a rise out of people. Looking forward to February sweeps! Even if Cassie has ulterior motives for Jacob, can't a girl sleep with a strapping young man as much as she wants too for a while? This story still has many different twists and turns that I think will surprise you! Thanks for reading – I hope you enjoy the rest of the month! D
