Episode 200 "Games You Play" & Updates

Episode 200 "Games You Play" from One Day at a Time has been released.
In this episode:
- Natasha and Shane's engagement party takes place on New Year's Eve

- Adam demands answers from Helen

Lastly, I'd like to dedicate this episode to my Grandfather, who passed away on boxing day.

Dallas, I like the new site design! The new title card and color scheme are really eye-popping and look great. I love the font you used for the title and page headers. Trivia: did you know that Mistral was used in advertisements for the movie Risky Business, and was mimicked in the title card for Drive to reflect the 80's feel? I've always liked it. Anyway, just a little side comment there for what it's worth! On a minor note, the character pop-up links throughout the new episode don't work. They direct to a blank page.

I know I haven't commented in a while. You know how when you miss a few episodes and then feel overwhelmed with catching up? Yeah, that happened. Luckily your 2012 recap helped fill in a lot of the blanks, so I could pick up with episode 200 and be caught up in the process. Congrats on the 200th episode, btw! You should have done a big media blitz celebrating it!! That's quite a milestone. I guess the redesign is good enough of a blitz, though, so it's all good.

I enjoyed the mystery and the suspense you created in this episode surrounding the masquerade party and the mysterious stalker. The big reveal right at the time the new year was being rung is was so daytime and I loved it. Very dramatic events. Donovan and Victoria meeting their father AND mother at that time was brilliant. What a tumultous 2013 they will have, particularly Eva as she's got some explaining to do! Great development!

I appreciated that you spent time reflecting on Sofia's death the previous New Year's Eve. Too many times those milestones go unnoticed. Or better yet, deceased characters often are never mentioned again, but you do a great job of rectifying that. Those were very moving scenes.

Reese freaking out on Craig and Andy was to be expected, I guess. there's a fine line on what's appropriate in this situation, but the character's behavior was believable either way.

How long is Helen going to keep up this charade with Adam? she should have told him the truth from the beginning. It was an accident, after all. then again, her behavior at the time was a little erratic, so he'd probably be pissed! At any rate, I'm excited to see how this unfolds and if Adam learns the truth, and what he'll do when he does!!

Lots of other fun stuff going on but I'll reserve those comments for next time. I'm excited to get back into ODaaT in 2013. Also, I'm sorry again about your Grandfather.

Hi Andy - thanks for stopping in! I had no idea about Risky Business, neat tid bit! Thanks for your kind words on the update site; I think it has a more grown up feel to it. I didn't want a big splash for the 200th episode - I think the next "big" one after 100 is 500. lol.

I'm glad you liked the drama with Victoria/Donovan learning Eva is their mother. I wanted another secret to be revealed because leading up to this episode, it was pretty clear that their father had been the one stalking them. I had initially thought that would be the reveal, but I loved the idea of throwing this in the air in this episode as well. The next episode, Eva does have a lot of explaining to do!

I really try to always bring up the "big" deaths on ODaaT - mainly Sofia and Noah. I have always loved how Y&R does Cassie's death each year, so I take inspiration from that. I'm glad you liked the scenes - I really liked Natasha/Bob coming together since they have been at odds lately.

Adam will learn the truth, yes, but it may take some time. This storyline really branches out (as I indicated in the 2013 previews), so it will take many twists and turns.

What an episode to end the year with! I cannot even believe it has been that long since Sofia left us and I love how you put in a tribute to her, like Andy said above, it is really nice to see web series pay tribute to deceased characters.

I just have to start by saying that twist with Eva and Victoria, Donovan and their father... I didn't see that coming at all. This whole time I figured that the same person was following them. But I had it in my head that Eva was married to him AFTER the children were born. So this twist was so jaw-dropping and perfect to end the year with. There is definitely so much story here that needs to be followed through on and YES, Eva needs to explain why exactly she had been in town this long and hasn't acknowledged her other two children! Poor Natasha is going to faint when this come rolling out that she not only has a mother she really doesn't have time for... but two adult half-siblings as well!

I have to say I like Craig and Andy together, we really haven't seen much of them so I can't really say I'm rooting for them. But I think they mesh well than he did with JC and I have to admit, I liked Andy a little bit more this episode. So good job there! I do wonder where Reese goes from here...

Can I slap Madeline now? Please? That's all I want to say on that!

BTW, I wanted to say how much I like the new darker layout. It reads well for me and it has such a crisp feel to it.

Thanks for reading. I am glad you like the new site. Every so often I like to update the look but keep it very traditional ODaaT, pink and roses!

I am so happy you love the NYE twist with Eva. At first, I was going to just reveal Ernesto, but I really felt like was obvious he was the one stalking Victoria and Donovan. The twist with Eva made it more shocking. Natasha will lose it, especially because right now she feels like Eva is the parent she can rely on, as opposed to Bob with his romance with Kim. I am also glad you liked the Sofia rememberance. She still plays such a key role on the series, despite being dead.

Reese and Andy move in different directions in 2013, so that should be good for both lol.

And Maddie! She's always been your fav!
