October 19th - Chasing Diamonds – The Christmas Special
APN – The fifth, and final, season of web-series, Chasing Diamonds, wrapped up earlier this summer with a surprise 11th episode. The series had initially released its normal 10 episode season, so the release of the surprise 11th episode had left fans wondering if the series was coming back full time, so soon after it was announced that the series was ending.
Shortly after, creator & writer Dallas Walsh teased that a Christmas special was in the works, claiming that these specials were "the future of the series", as he felt like writing two full time series (he also produces One Day at a Time) was too much to handle. Instead, One Day at a Time will continue on a weekly basis, and there would be Chasing Diamonds specials from time to time.
Now, an official release date for the Chasing Diamonds Christmas episode has been announced. On Monday, December 3, 2018, the episode can be viewed on the Chasing Diamonds website.
"I decided to release it in early December so fans can enjoy the entire month of Christmas with the special," Dallas told us exclusively. "The episode is longer than the previous episodes were because there's only one episode; it's not a season long event. But, I think it's just as dramatic as ever!"
Watch for the episode to be centered at Christmas time, hence the title, which will be a first of the series. Are you excited to see how the Rockwell's will spend Christmas? Chasing Diamonds: A Rockwell Christmas comes out December 1st, brought to you by Absolute Productions.

Love holiday specials!
That was definitely a classic Chasing Diamonds, just with Christmas spirit threaded throughout. I loved the tree having diamond decorations. So campy!
No surprise that Mac and Lydia fell apart again. Frankly, she threw away their marriage to have sex with Noel, so Mac shouldn't just take her back so quickly. Carmen's obviously scheming to land Mac, but she also isn't doing anything bad besides... being available to him, so he could do worse. I liked him inviting Sabine to move back in for Christmas. These people really get over EVERYTHING, lol. Sabine was pretty good in this installment, though. She was right to be pissed at Kent for moving back in with Vivian, and she did what she had to do to prove there was a scheme afoot. It was fun how the whole story of Vivian's scheme was a clean arc for this episode, too.
The tie-in with Chase Cooper being the one who fathered Vivian's child in the past was clever, too. That tied a few random threads together. I'm guessing she just dumped Madison with Chase and took off to save her marriage to Kent? (Also, is Chase Cooper black, based on the fact that Deacon is? Definitely didn't see the twist coming.) I assume we'll learn more in future specials. I sort of hope Cole isn't pissed at Madi. She didn't really hide anything from him -- she doesn't have a relationship with Vivian to speak of. She's done nothing to deceive Cole. I'm sure he will be bent out of shape, but it doesn't seem completely warranted.
I was dying at Lucinda telling Sabine her basement had just been renovated. Lolololol. That was the best line of the episode!
This was fun! Happy holidays, and I hope we'll see more CD in 2019!

Love holiday specials! That was definitely a classic Chasing Diamonds, just with Christmas spirit threaded throughout. I loved the tree having diamond decorations. So campy! YAY! I'm glad that enjoyed the holiday special, Michael. I wrote this, I think, back in May ... so I was listening to Christmas music then to write the event. It was fun, I must admit mostly because there wasn't a lot of seasonal changes noted in the regular seasons of Diamonds, so this was a mini-departure from that. You know, I remember Eileen Davidson and Melissa Reeves giving an interview or something when Kristen first came back to Salem years ago and Kristen and Jennifer became friends again; fans were calling out Jennifer/Missy because of all the horrible things Kristen had done ... and Eileen said something like it's a soap opera, if we never forgave people for what they did, no one would talk to anyone. That's always sort of stuck with me, especially on a cast this size. So yes, they do forgive EVERYTHING. but it's nice to bring up some of that horrible stuff every now and then. Lydia's affair was fun because I always imagined her with a younger man; through out the series she was (mostly) with Kent, so Noel was a great notch on her bed post. And yes, Carmen was just there for Mac and it played off for her! I did like Vivian's scheme to get Kent back. she played on his and Houston's feelings so much. If this was a regular season we'd see more fall out from it ... She didn't really hide anything from him -- she doesn't have a relationship with Vivian to speak of. She's done nothing to deceive Cole. I'm sure he will be bent out of shape, but it doesn't seem completely warranted. Yes, Chase Cooper is black. I'm already thinking he will be a new regular when the series comes back at some point because now there is story with him with Vivian, Madi and Deacon but we will see. Cole is kind of a loose cannon. Part of me pictures him falling off the wagon now and (hopefully) getting another bj from a man ... haha I was dying at Lucinda telling Sabine her basement had just been renovated. Lolololol. That was the best line of the episode! This was fun! Happy holidays, and I hope we'll see more CD in 2019! I loved that line too! Thanks so much for reading - it's always appreciated! Dallas
