Wow, welcome back! Didn't expect to see a new episode so soon, but I did have a feeling you might not be done playing in the world of Kelsey Lake entirely.
It was sort of fun to play catch-up and learn about what's gone down since the finale. Skipping time like that and then filling in the blanks can always bring a fresh energy. Of course Mac and Lydia are already at each other's throats and screwing around. Given their history and who they are individually, it probably didn't make sense for them to settle into a stable marriage for long. Now the novelty is gone and they're back to their old tricks.
I was surprised to see Cole and Madison established as a couple, just because I'd kind of forgotten about her. I'm curious as to whether you had further plans for her in the original season 5 that you never got to, and if this is an extension of that -- or is this something new you've come up with? Did not expect the twist with Madison's lineage at ALL, but I'm interested to see how you explain it! Clearly Lucinda has some reason to be in on the truth... and apparently Madison knows, too.
What a fun Monday surprise! Welcome back. Sounds like there might be a Christmas special in the works...

Wow, welcome back! Didn't expect to see a new episode so soon, but I did have a feeling you might not be done playing in the world of Kelsey Lake entirely. YAY! I am so glad you were surprised! The entire season I was hinting at a "surprise" at the end of the season, and it was this episode. Not done forever with Chasing Diamonds, but, at least for now, the end of regular seasons. When I came up with the idea to move the plot forward, I really thought about what Lydia & Mac would be up too and I really didn't think that their marriage would last forever. They are both such dynamic personalities that I think they would always end up clashing. And, I really did always think Lydia would want to have a younger man, enter Noel. And Mac's assistant seemed natural to catch his eye. And, the ending of this episode certainly sets up future specials! Actually, I always knew that Cole would have to move on from Celeste -- the entire reason I sprinkled her into the first 10 episodes of the season was for readers to remember her; I even added that she was attracted to him because originally I didn't add this piece in. That being said, I also knew that I had to have some drama with them, so I came up with the idea of her being Vivian's long lost daughter. More will be explained ... I'm so glad you enjoyed the episode ... see you at Christmas xoxo D
