Hey, just got caught up with the first two episodes, and I'm liking it! You had some great setup to the characters and storylines so that it was easy to get into the story and learn who everyone is. Smart to focus on the core family first. Then you can branch out with adding new peripheral characters. That was always my approach with TB.
I enjoy the business angle to the series. It's something I tried to incorporate into my series as well. Aaron Spelling, one of my idols, used to say that it wasn't the actual business stuff that kept people interested - it was the emotional connection the characters had to the outcome of the business story, and how it affected their lives and relationships. I always thought that was a good way to look at it. So I always make an emotional connection to the otherwise "boring" business stories. So I'm looking forward to seeing yours play out, as the rivalry is a great way to bring it in.

Like I told Michael, The Blackthornes was always a big inspiration for me, so this series is partly inspired by you. I love the pace and action of a "primetime" series. My idea was to focus in on the main family, the Rockwell's, because if you have too many characters, especially for a new series, I think readers can get lost. The entire first season just focuses on these characters and what develops. The business angle will really show a lot of different sides to characters. Without giving too much away, you'll see developments with Lex and Cole, Lydia and Mac, Lydia and all of her children ect. It's just another way to show how far these characters will go to obtain what they want. Thanks again for your feed back - I hope you enjoy the rest of the first season! D
